While working in design, there is something we called user behavior. and one of them how their look into our product and navigate in them. If we talk similarly is not much different from how the user looks into a poster. In the poster, we use headlines bigger than the rest of the elements to attract attention from the user. But what if we do it in a digital product?

In digital products their some behavior will happen when users visit or use our products. and sometimes it’s called heatmap. Understanding their behavior will help you to improve how your product looks.

there are some tools you can use to get the data from tracking what your user do in your product. Hotjar, Fullstory, Clicktale, Smartlook and many others.

and these are some of the behavior patterns of how the user comes to our product and interacts with them.

Birdnest Behavior

Bird’s nest

in this behavior, the user tends to drag the mouse anywhere and leave a random mouse track that sometimes resembles a bird’s nest. If you can playback the recorded of the heatmap, you can find maybe the user confusion to find the information their needs.

To solve this behavior we can start by changing the layout of the User Interface and focusing on what information the user needs.

Mouse Reading Behavior

Mouse Reading

This behavior will mostly happen if you come to visit some news or blog website. Users will follow the content of the product by dragging their mouses. If the user using this type of behavior they wanted to get more information from what they read or see.

from this behavior

Scroll Engagement Behavior

Scroll engagement

interaction by scrolling occurs when the user scrolls a page of the website or app at a steady, steady pace, which means that the content is already in use. It doesn’t matter if they use the desktop and the mouse or the mobile and the hand.

The scroll is a strong indication that people are engaging with content and another key metric that publishers and advertisers should consider when planning their content marketing and communications strategy.

Block and Copy Behavior

Blocking and copy behavior

Such behavior indicates participation. Users can copy names, phone numbers, contacts, or even certain information to compare with other information from elsewhere.

So this filtering and copying is a good opportunity to send personalized messages such as discount codes.

Please note that some users can only copy the text for later translation. Always take other measurements into account. They can help better understand your client’s goals.

Rage Clicking Behavior

Raging Click

Situations where a user clicks an element on your website or app, but it has no effect on the page. Dead clicks have some similarities to clicks unleashed, but generally, they don’t require fast responsive click behavior.

For example, the user can click on “background” to exit the modal window overlay. In other cases, dead clicks occur on chunks of text, which can signal the focused attention of users trying to learn difficult information.

Abandoned Form Behavior

Abandoned Forms

Form break is a situation where a user abandons forms on your website or application. Filling out forms is no secret and it can even be frustrating at times to fill out forms, even if you are interested in a product that is behind the form. And here is another signal of disappointment.

What you can do here is analyze what type of form fields you actually need and which can be filled in automatically. This will help reduce the number of abandoned forms.
